ROBBY GESSEL
I look at life and culture with an analytical lens to produce awesome and memorable content. I am a writer, creator, comedian, marketer, podcast host, actor, and musician, among other things. I put effort and passion into each of the many ventures I embark upon because I love creating and telling stories. I constantly try to work on new and unique projects and find innovative creative outlets.
WHAT I DO
I work as a Marketing Coordinator for Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, VO, and podcasting products and services. I graduated from Emerson College with a degree in Marketing Communications and minors in Comedy Writing and Performance and Political Communication. While president of my sketch comedy troupe, Chocolate Cake City, we were named one of the 10 best college comedy organizations in the country. Currently, I'm starring in and producing The Law Brothers, an original independent TV Pilot! I'm also producing my own live sketch comedy show, Robby Night Live. In 2019, I created Robby Gessel Brand as a reaction to influencer culture and in 2020, I began the Wheel of Fiction podcast with a couple of friends. I love to apply my assortment of technical and creative skills for marketing, comedy, and beyond!
WHO I AM
I grew up in Arlington, Virginia, where I participated in theater, Boy Scouts, and martial arts throughout my childhood. I acted in over 20 stage productions, earned my Eagle Scout with Troop 149, and my black belt in Tae Kwon Do before I left for college. At Emerson College, I met amazing friends and had the opportunity to spend a semester traveling Europe while studying in a 14th century castle in The Netherlands, and another semester studying in downtown Los Angeles. I have a passion for traveling, hiking, and exploring. I also love spending time with friends and working on collaborative projects. I also played Ultimate Frisbee with the Emerson Skunks. My other hobbies include making comedy, watching TV and movies, playing video games, listening to music, watching hockey, creating spreadsheets, and observing and analyzing the people and world around me.
